Children & Young People
We provide fun, educational and challenging activities for all children and young people aged 5 and upwards.
We are offering most of our activities for FREE to ‘looked after children’ through the Our Choice project! (For a definition of ‘looked after’ and more information, please visit the Our Choice page).
Adventure Unlimited is a registered charity in Brighton & Hove which aims to enrich the lives of children and young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Our projects include:
Wild Things – exciting 3-day activity programmes for children aged 8-12, including archery, climbing and bushcraft from just £2/day
TOADS – adventurous activities for teenagers, designed by teenagers, including climbing, archery and bouldering from only £2/day
Rock Court -Brighton’s only indoor climbing & bouldering wall for everyone aged 5+, including people with disabilities, adults, novices, improvers and regular children, teenage and family sessions. Currently we even have some FREE sessions for groups or individuals!
New Heights – free adventure activities for young people in specific housing areas across Sussex & Surrey in the school holidays. We bring the activities to you, and you can even gain accredited awards by helping us to lead activities.
Our Choice – free activity programme for young people in care, designed by young people in care. You can attend almost all of AU activities for free if you are looked-after and we have special days just for you.
Aiming High – free adventure activities for disabled children and young people in Brighton & Hove. This winter only!
We provide:
- Free and subsidised places – we think all children and young people should have access to outdoor activities, not just those who can afford to pay private companies
- Access for people with disabilities – having a disability shouldn’t stop people taking part, that’s why most of our activities, including our climbing wall are accessible to everyone
- Transport – access to nature is important for our wellbeing, but transport can be limited. We provide transport on our days out, because families told us they couldn’t take part without it
- Specialist equipment – we provide all of the specialist equipment you need to take part, because otherwise it would be too expensive for many people
- High staff ratios – sometimes people need extra help to take part, because of their special needs, challenging behaviour or just because they’re shy or find it difficult. Our volunteers provide one-to-one support
Every child needs a Consent Form signed by a parent/guardian to take part.
