Press release: Bouldering wall opens

Brighton’s only climbing wall, the Rock Court, opened its new bouldering wall last week.
The addition to the Rock Court is thanks to a grant from The Clothworkers’ Foundation and the hard work of volunteers, including long-term unemployed young people who took part in the project to improve their skills and gain work experience.
Rock Court Manager, Chris Smith, says “People of all ages have been asking us if we can add a bouldering wall to the Rock Court. It helps people to develop their technique and is a sport in its own right. Lots of people who attend the climbing wall have already had a chance to try it out and everyone is saying they love it! I’m really grateful to all of the people who have helped build the wall and raise the funds for materials – thank you.”
The Rock Court is run by Adventure Unlimited, a local children’s charity who provide unique life-changing experiences for disadvantaged children and young people. The Rock Court is based at Stanley Deason Leisure Centre and open to all ages and abilities, with sessions for individuals, families, adults, corporate teams and disabled people.
