RACE AROUND IRELAND

Race Around Ireland

Adventure Unlimited is entering two cyclists into the International Ultra-Marathon World Cup challenge event, the Race Around Ireland.

Mike and Dave are planning to celebrate their 50th birthdays in style by cycling an amazing 1,350 miles in the race. They are hoping to raise £50,000 in sponsorship for AU by completing Europe's toughest cycling challenge and winning the competition by completing it is just 4 1/2 days - that's 150 miles a day each!

Mike and Dave will be supported by a committed team of volunteers who will drive the vehicles, repair the bikes, organise kit and food and navigate.
They too will be on the go 24 hours/day. This is an incredible challenge for everyone involved.

How you can help?

We are urgently looking for sponsorship for the team to be able to take part. We are looking for in-kind and cash donations. You can donate to them at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/raiadventureunlimited or contact info@aultd.org.

More information for potential corporate sponsors can be found in documents below

Brighton Marathon 2011 Places

Adventure Unlimited are proud to have some places available in the second Brighton Marathon on Sunday 10 April 2011.  More information about running for us is available here

Walk Around the World

The Hilton Foundation & Brighton Rotary Club have organised a sponsored event, called Around the World, which takes place Sunday 6th June. The aim is to add up the miles everyone across the UK completes and see if we can make it ‘Around the World’!

It would be really great if you would consider taking part and raising sponsorship for Adventure Unlimited and the Crew Club, dual beneficiaries of the event this year.

The event will be lots of fun and involves walking/running/skipping, or however you fancy moving, along the seafront for as little as a mile, up to as many as you can fit in over 2 hours. There will be a warm up at 1pm ready for a start at 1.30pm, and it finishes at 3.30pm. There will be lots of fun activities along the way, and a Heroes’ reception at 4pm. People of any age can take part. There is no minimum sponsorship. The event is £5 to register, but this can be taken out of your sponsorship.

The funds raised for us will help disadvantaged children and young people take part in our activities, by reducing the cost of events for those on a low income and training volunteer assistants.

To get more info or register, see Hilton Foundation Leaflet. You can register in advance or on the day.  Once you've registered you can print off a sponsor form and start collecting sponsors. It would be great if you would let us know if you are planning to take part, so that we have an idea of how many people are taking part for AU.

Support Adventure Unlimited at Waitrose in March 2010

Waitrose (on Western Road, Brighton) has chosen us as one of the charities they’re supporting during the month of March. When you shop, you get a green token to put in one of three boxes in store, each representing a charity. There is £1000 to share and the 3 charities share the money according to how many tokens they get.  If you (or your friends) shop at Waitrose, it would be great if you could help us by posting your tokens for us.

DO30

Adventure Unlimited is proud to have been chosen to be one of the DO30 charities - Gary Marlow is 30 this year and to celebrate is doing 30 challenges to raise £300,000 for 30 charities. He's also on the look out for people to take part in his challenges from paintballing to a North Pole challenge...

Brighton Marathon

The first ever Brighton Marathon takes place on 18 April 2010 – giving beginners just enough time to train. The route starts in Preston Park and ends in a nice flat run along the seafront. We now longer have any spaces left but are operating a waiting list system in case anyone drops out.  For more information click here.

NEW HEIGHTS 2009  - Summer Project

Young Hyde residents challenge themselves in summer holiday programme

This summer The Hyde Group’s community regeneration team, Hyde Plus, has joined forces with Brighton-based charity, Adventure Unlimited, to deliver ‘New Heights’, a programme of activities for young people aged eight to 13 which will give them the chance to take part in new activities and experiences.

The activities – which include climbing, archery and games team building - have been earmarked for five housing estates in Brighton, Portslade, Bexhill, Haywards Heath and Redhill. Some low-income households on the estates have limited access to transport thus restricting their attendance of holiday programmes.
