martin searle solicitors, a Brighton and Croydon law firm, are celebrating their 8^th birthday on June 7^th, 2012, with an Alternative 80’s Party at Latest MusicBar, Brighton.

The party is being held to raise money for Adventure Unlimited.

Simon Price, pop critic for the Independent on Sunday and well-known locally for his cult club night Spellbound at Komedia, will DJ at the event and promises to provide the best in alternative 80’s music. There will also be live music from David Golden performing 80′s hits from bands such as The Clash, The Jam and Soft Cell. The ticket price includes a fantastic locally-sourced buffet.

Prizes will be offered to the Best Dressed 80’s style Man and Woman, as well as the Best Male and Best Female 80’s Dancers, to be judged by Henry Butler of Butlers Wine Cellar.

“We would love it if all participants attend in 80′s attire – alternative or mainstream, if you really love those shoulder pads and bad hair. I will be digging out my crimpers and black clobber so I can re-enact my clubbing days at The Basement and Subterfuge. However, 80’s attire is not compulsory!”

Adventure Unlimited has 6 places.  We require a small registration fee of £30 and minimum sponsorship of only £80. Every penny raised helps disadvantaged children and young people take part in life changing activities.

Wild Things!

Wild Things! – our fun-packed activity
programmes for 8-12 year olds – are back to chase away the back to school
blues.  The last 3-day programme of the
year will be running in October half-term.
Activities include archery, zipwire, bushcraft and more!

The standard cost
for a 3-day programme is £69, with
subsidised rates of £39 (Working Tax
Credit) and £9 (JSA/Income Support).

Number of disabled
children taking short breaks doubles

Projects like AU’s disabled climbing and the new Aiming High project
have doubled the uptake of short breaks by disabled children in the UK since 2008.
The exciting activities disabled children can access with AU have given them a
massive confidence boost, developed new skills and most of all put a huge smile
on their faces! It also gives their carers a break so they can catch up with
chores, spend time with other family members or relax.

BBC Live and Deadly Event!

Adventure Unlimited were  pleased to be part of BBC’s Live and Deadly
event on Sunday 11 September 2011 at Horsham
Park. It offered  a chance to come face to face with amazing
deadly animals and try out cool adventure activities. Bob and the team were there
offering bushcraft workshops along with lots of other wild and wonderful
creatures!
