We’re looking for 12 unemployed adults (preferably 6 male and 6 female) to join our Adventure Leadership Training Project starting on 27 February 2012.

The project includes

• working outdoors with disadvantaged young people
• Learning to lead adventurous activities
• Forming a team and helping others
• gaining qualifications and skills for the workplace

Can lead to employment and further training in  – Outdoor Pursuits, Care Work or Youth Work

Current Activity programmes are:

Multi-Activity Days at Brook Farm with transport from the pick up point at the Level 10am to 4pm.

Activities will be determined on the day but are likely to include obstacle course, archery, climbing wall and games.

Sadly we are unable to provide access to wheelchair users for this venue.

NB

It is very important we receive all information so that we can ensure we are able to fully support the children and young people attending.  We will be able to support and transport the majority of participants however we may require some carers to accompany and transport participants.

Hope you’ve had agreat August and September and managed to make the most of the recent sunshine. We’ve been busy with camps, climbing and adventurous activities galore!  Thoughts now turn to back autumn but we’ve still got lots of great activities coming up so you can keep that holiday feeling a little bit longer!

Wild Things!

Wild Things! – our fun-packed activity
programmes for 8-12 year olds – are back to chase away the back to school
blues.  The last 3-day programme of the
year will be running in October half-term.
Activities include archery, zipwire, bushcraft and more!

The standard cost
for a 3-day programme is £69, with
subsidised rates of £39 (Working Tax
Credit) and £9 (JSA/Income Support).
Days usually run from 10am to 4pm and we pick you up at The Level. To book see

Indoor Climbing at the Rock Court for everyone

Why not try indoor
climbing this autumn? We’ve got sessions to suit everyone from beginners to the
more experienced climber.  Our friendly,
qualified instructors and assistants will introduce beginners to this great

Number of disabled
children taking short breaks doubles

Projects like AU’s disabled climbing and the new Aiming High project
have doubled the uptake of short breaks by disabled children in the UK since 2008.
The exciting activities disabled children can access with AU have given them a
massive confidence boost, developed new skills and most of all put a huge smile
on their faces! It also gives their carers a break so they can catch up with
chores, spend time with other family members or relax.

BBC Live and Deadly Event!

Adventure Unlimited were  pleased to be part of BBC’s Live and Deadly
event on Sunday 11 September 2011 at Horsham
Park. It offered  a chance to come face to face with amazing
deadly animals and try out cool adventure activities. Bob and the team were there
offering bushcraft workshops along with lots of other wild and wonderful
creatures!
