The Adventure Leadership Training Project empowers formerly unemployed adults with the skills to design and run activities for disadvantaged young people from their own community.

What the project does Why
Delivers a full time programme of training & work experience To create better chances of paid employment and reduce disadvantage
Offers nationally recognised qualifications and proven leadership skills To increase the 'employability' of our trainee leaders in the eyes of potential employers
Provides opportunities to work in a team, helping others, in an outdoor setting To harness positive energy, increase confidence and improve health
Challenges the traditional image of outdoor pursuits being white male dominated To reduce discrimination and inequality and celebrate the differences between individuals
Listens to participants and involves them in design To make sure we deliver what's needed and make improvements where we can
Sets targets and monitors performance To ensure we serve those who need us most
Works to a planned budget To control costs and make the most of our grants and donations
Works in partnership with others To avoid duplication and maximise benefits
Publicises its achievements To let others know what works
